**LJ Diamond Awards** began humbly on social media, specifically Twitter, where Lina Jones retweeted songs from independent artists. The first award for the most popular retweeted song went to **Cosmic Crash**.
Lina Jones created the **Lina Jones Diamond Network Show** to spotlight micro and small businesses and independent artists. The show's popularity soared, leading to over 30,000 downloads. Due to this success, Lena introduced awards for the best interview, won by **Mike Aloha**, and the most popular song, which **Cosmic Crash** won again with "Falling in Love."
During a show with comedian Brian T Shirley, the winners were announced and received a trophy, a T-shirt, and a six-month marketing package with LDN Network. At that time, LJD and Radio were not yet established, and only two trophies were awarded.
Today, **LJ Diamond Awards** and **LJDRadio** continue to celebrate and promote exceptional talent. Tune in to discover the best in music and business!
In 2016, the **LJ Diamond Awards** expanded to include more artist due to the demand for more artist and keeping "The Most Popular Interview show category on the **Lina Jones Diamond Network Show**. Songs were selected and voted on for popularity. Over the years, the awards experimented with different trophy designs, aiming for a permanent design soon.
Winners received a marketing package, trophies, and T-shirts. **Roderick Jefferson** won the 2016 most popular interview for his voice-over work with companies like Mercedes-Benz. **Jimmy Packets** won first place for the most popular independent artist in rock, **Norma Jean Angel** secured second, and **O Be Clever** won third for their song. The second and third place for interviews went to **Steve Cohen** and **Robert McNulty** respectively, although no awards were given, they were acknowledged.

In 2017, the **LJ Diamond Awards** took a new approach. Lina Jones experimented with different ways of hosting the awards to find the perfect fit. That year, she invested in a very expensive trophy. Due to budget constraints, the prestigious trophy could only be awarded to one person. This person was chosen based on the most popular social media votes, and the trophy was titled "Most Popular Vote." Despite listing five finalists, only one winner received the trophy and marketing package. **Cosmic Crash** emerged as the winner, having also won the award in 2015 for the most popular person.

Seeking a new approach for the awards didn't prove to be the best decision, as more artists and genres continuously submitted to **LJDNetwork**. Therefore, Lna Jones decided to stick with tradition and not alter the format too much. The decision was made to purchase a more budget friendly trophy so that there could be more nominees. Starting in 2019, awards and trophies were introduced for different music genres. A specific trophy design was also chosen and used for the following year.
Genres came into play, each with its own award package. The most popular person on social media remained an award category, with **Big Rector**, a musician, winning.
The most popular social media independent artist was **Jimmy Packets**.
The Best Gospel Video award went to **Steve Hester** for his song "Waterside," which still plays on **LJDNR Opulence** today.
The Best Video in the Pop/Rock category was won by **Davide Moscato** for his song "From The Ashes." However, awarding artists outside the US proved challenging due to high shipping costs, making us cautious about nominating international artists.
DavideMoscato had his win featured in a local newspaper in Italy, marking LJDNetwork's first time receiving exposure in a different country.
**Michael Bronstetter** won Best Video in the Country Music genre for his song "Change Your Mind." Each year, winners received a marketing package and promotions.

2021 marked the last year Lena Jones hosted the **LJ Diamond Awards**. Contrary to what one might think, this wasn't due to a lack of interest or low popularity. In fact, the opposite was true—votes poured in at such a high volume that as a one-woman trailblazer, Lena couldn't handle the overwhelming response that came with the 2021 awards. This year also saw the awards being recorded live on YouTube for the first time, though no recordings of the live show exist at this time.
During this period, **LJDNRadio** was already established. Lina decided to focus strictly on music, incorporating more genres into the awards, allowing the votes to be categorized by different music genres. **LJDNRadio** took a break for a few years to regroup, but now it’s time for the awards to make a comeback.
The winners were:
- **Best Rock Song**: "Redemption Way" by Brad Novonty
- **Best Country Song**: "Stomp On" by Matt Weston
- **Best Hip Hop Song**: "Taste of Love" by Clayton Morgan
- **Best Reggae Song**: "Take Me Back" by Tangina Stone
- **Best Gospel Song**: "Foot On The Cross" by Lonnie Crawford
- **Best Pop Song**: "I Told You So" by Ed Roman
As you can see, these artists and their songs are recorded on the **LJDRadio** platform and will always be preserved as long as **LJDRadio** and **LJDNetwork** exist.
